Rubber flooring for Golf Course tracks

In my past articles I’ve been showing different applications for rubber flooring. I will be talking today about another aplication of it on tracks for golf courses.

I started learning and playing golf and Pitch & Putt, about 20 years ago and I can tell you at some golf tracks I have collected in my golf shoes tones of mud.

Pathways are essential on the golf course to provide circulation routes and protect the greens and fairways. They also serve routes for visitors to avoid impact on players. The tracks usually suffer a lot of erosion from spiked shoes and carts or trolleys and they have sometimes high slopes, so maintenance is usually quite costly.

These pathways are sometimes using concrete that is not comfortable or aggregates that in addition to lacking comfort, require a lot of replenishment maintenance after storms and heavy rains.

A solution is available with long life, good comfort, high permeability rate and low maintenance and this is the bonded rubber mulch.

Shredded rubber mulch is fully permeable, can be of different colours or colour blends and is mixed and bonded on site with a polyurethane binder, keeping a very natural look and being a strong and durable surface.

Usually a 40 mm thickness can be installed directly on top of the existing pathway or improving the sub-base with a geotextile membrane and compacted aggregates.
