The time has come: My retirement

After more than four decades of professional life, filled with projects, challenges and a fair share of unexpected turns, the moment has finally arrived for me to close this chapter. I am officially retiring at the end of May 2026, just around four months from the moment I write this post.

It feels both strange and liberating to write these words. For many years I imagined that when this day come, I would feel only relief. Instead, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on the long journey that brought me here: the people I met, the company that trusted me, and the countless opportunities to learn and share knowledge.

I have always believed that work, when it aligns with one’s passion, is not a burden but a privilege. I was fortunate to dedicate my career to fields that fascinated me, collaborating with outstanding partners and creating and cooperating with teams who made every challenge worthwhile. To all of them, I owe not just professional achievements but also enduring friendships.

Retirement of course, is not an end but a beginning. I look forward to dedicating more time to family, to travel, to books long waiting on my shelves, and to projects that do not come with deadlines and budgets, only curiosity and enjoyment.

I also carry with me the conviction that the knowledge we build through life is best when shared. For this reason, I started writing this blog with enthusiasm and different rhythms depending on my workload. I am not sure if I will be able to keep writing here to explore new ideas or tell stories, I really cannot promise it.

To my colleagues, partners and readers; thank you for accompanying me on this journey. I will enjoy the next few months with my current partners until end of May and after this date the road ahead will be different, but I hope just as rewarding.

Retirement is when every day is a weekend … until you realize that now you have twice as many meetings with your grandchildren as you ever had at work.

I’m not retiring from life, just from alarms, deadlines and Monday mornings.

That’s all Folks
