Playgrounds after COVID lockdown times

Playgrounds have been in lockdown in near all Countries in Europe and probably Worldwide. At those countries at which they remained open they probably had time restrictions or some accommodation limits due to COVID pandemic.

Now that things are improving with vaccination over a wider range of ages, public authorities are starting to open these areas and some governments are preparing investments for new public play spaces or to fix the damages caused at some play equipment or safety surfacing after closure for a long time.

During this pandemic funding had to be allocated to other more urgent priorities.

According to API (Association of Play Industries in UK) new funds for outdoor play spaces have been approved in Scotland and Ireland and will probably be pledged also in England. Similar movements will be needed in near all countries.

Children living in flats or households without garden have been missing physical activity and lacking play with friends due to lockdowns and these activities are essential for his wellbeing, mental health, and social development.
I have noticed with my grandchildren how excited they are when they come to our house in the mountains with some garden and open space available. They succeed to get me exhausted running after them.

As a Playground surfacing installer, maybe you can get new opportunities this season to re-top a safety flooring or install a safety surfacing on a new playground. Go get them.

Take care
